Medical and Surgical Mission

Medical and Surgical Mission

In 1986, AYF started medical and surgical mission initiatives to broaden its reach and widen its scope of service. It was in 1999 that it became hands-on and active on this endeavor by partnering with various organizations both private and public. For more than 29 years of doing this, it has established strong partnership with medical groups who are now regularly involved in the medical and surgical missions of the foundation - Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, East Avenue Medical Center, The Medical City, Makati Medical Center, Muntinlupa Medical Center, Ospital ng Sampaloc, University of Sto. Tomas Hospital, St. Louis Hospital in Baguio, Sta. Ana Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, and the Philippine College of Surgeons.

Annually AYF conducts 5-6 medical and surgical missions in various places in the country and on average the team stays for 10 days, providing free medical consultations and performing minor and major surgeries. Since the project’s launch, AYF was able to perform more than 11,000 surgical procedures and more than 62,000 medical consults.
